The Charles River is a very accessible river to paddle on. If you are just starting out the Charles River Canoe and Kayak company has 5 locations along the river where you can rent a variety of boats. They are a conscientious outfitter. They provide you with a pfd and the rules of the water and water safety before you get on the water. The river itself is clean and calm making it a great place to start your paddling adventure.

Plan B:

Mt. Auburn Cemetery if you'd rather hike or Harvard's Natural History Museum if it's raining.

Where to Eat Nearby:

There are many food options in Harvard Square
