Swim, fish and paddle the reservoir!

Ashland State Park's reservoir

While the main entrance is only open in the summer, many people access the park from its back entrance on Spring Street year-round for hiking, fishing and enjoying water views. Be prepared to pay the park's fee in the summer for its lifeguarded beach.

A 4-mile trail wraps around the 157 acre reservoir. For a shorter kid-friendly hike, walk to the dam that holds the reservoir. Ashland State Park has 470 acres. The park is operated seasonally and provides opportunities for swimming, picnicking, boating, fishing, bicycling and hiking. Beach improvements at the park include facilities for wheelchair access to the boathouse.

Where to Eat Nearby:

Head up to Route 9, where there are lots of options.
