This historic home was once the country residence of Boston's prominent Lyman family. In addition to the house, the estate offers 37 acres of grounds to explore, along with greenhouses, a carriage house, and gardener's cottage. The greenhouse and historic house were wonderful to walk around (see the Lyman Estate website for guided home and greenhouse tour information.) The kids loved smelling the flowers.

Plan B:

Across the street is the Thomas Payne Estate, which has a wonderful trail system.
