Great place to take the family for a day of outdoor fun.

Pine Bluffs boasts a sandy beach, boat launch, picnic areas, playing fields and several trails. Great place to take the family for a day of outdoor fun. The beach isn't large, but its rarely very crowded. The beach slopes gently into the water, making it great for little kids. Lake Boon is beautiful for swimming and wildlife viewing: beaver, moose, fish and many species of birds have all been spotted on the lake. The network of trails is just long enough to provide a nice walk.  In the winter, ice skaing is allowed, and trails are great for cross-country skiing. Also, Pine Bluffs is very close to the Assabet National Wildlife Refuge, for families that are looking to make a day of it in the outdoors!

Plan B:

Stowe has many apple orchards and farm stands that are fun for kids to visit.

Where to Eat Nearby:

There are several eateries on Route 117 in the center of Stowe.
