Easy Trails through beautiful conservation land

Rock Meadow Conservation Area

Rock Meadow Conservation area is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll through a beaufitul habitat. This open meadow is great habitat for many species of wildlife, including deer, rabbit, and lots and lots of birds! The trail is maintained regularly, and you can walk the entire loop around the meadow in about 45 minutes.

If you are looking for a longer outing, follow the green trail blazes for the Western Greenway Trail, and follow the path to Beaver Brook Reservation and beyond.

Also be sure to walk throught the Belmont Community Garden while you are there to see and smell the fruits, vegetables, and flowers growing there.

Plan B:

On a hot day, visit the spray park on Trapelo Road, or on a rainy day, visit the National Archives Museum, also on Trapelo Road. Visit http://www.archives.gov/index.html for hours and more information. You can also visit one of Waltham's historic mansions - Gore Place, the Robert Treat Paine Estate, or the Lyman Estate. See walthamtourism.com for tour dates and more information.

Where to Eat Nearby:

Continue on Trapelo Road into Belmont for a variety of dining options.
