An easy walk to the viewpoint and summit of this small mountain makes Mount Pisgah a great hike for kids. Several parcels across Northboro and Berlin connect to form the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area. Visitors can enjoy a short hike or a longer adventure with the area's multiple trails and two viewpoints. We parked at the trailhead lot on Smith Road in Northboro, and headed up the Mentzer Trail to the North overlook. It was a direct and easy walk to the viewpoint, which is a great location for a picnic. From the viewpoint, we chose to head back down the Mentzer Trail to the North Gorge for a scenic walk along the stream. Next time, we plan to go and and explore some of the trails in the southern section on MassWildlife property.

Plan B:

Take a drive through the surrounding area, which includes many small farms.

Where to Eat Nearby:

Head to the nearby Marlborough Mall off of I-290.
