Impressive rocks and a small cave to explore (or climb, if you're so inclined) at Crow Hill Ledges; connection with the Midstate Trail; plenty of old stone boundary walls; mountain laurel patches (in season); Redemption Rock historic site. Crow Hill Pond, with more walking trails, lifeguard-staffed swimming beach (during summer) and picnic/bbq sites, is one parking area over.
Plan B:CoCo Key indoor water park is nearby.
Where to Eat Nearby:We've gone to Captain Bob's Drive-In in East Princeton several times for clam shack fare, ice cream and quirky exterior decor (though the owners really do discourage U-turns or just hanging out in the parking lot). Further down the road a bit, Over Easy Cafe (4 Johnson Rd., in Sterling) is a bigtime favorite for omelets, French toast and other breakfast items morning or afternoon, as well as an ice cream place on the premises.
