Learned Pond offers a forest experience in the city.

Close to downtown Framingham, this quiet pond has a sandy, lifeguarded beach in the summer. At the end of the parking lot, take a short walk along shady year-round trails on the pond's edge for beautiful views of the pond. It's especially scenic in the fall. Must pay to swim in the summer; public swimming ends mid-August each year.

Plan B:

Go south to the Mass Audubon's Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Sherborn.  Enjoy their ADA-accessible Nature Center , which is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, Sunday and Monday holidays, 10 am to 5 pm.

Where to Eat Nearby:

There are several Brazilian eateries and markets in downtown Framingham.

I am a person who believes that kids should be taken out to such activity spots on weekends where they can get enough physical activity. The opportunity to have physical activities at home these days are so rare or impossible.
