Getting Started - Tips for Successful Outings
Teaching kids about the outdoors
One of the things I think outdoor outings lend themselves to is teaching children about nature and the natural world. When I take my child on an outing I want her to know about the environment. How and when to have a safe fire and the "leave no trace" philosophy. Being outdoors is fin but it is also a chance to teach our children about caring for our planet. Have there been ways that you have incorporated lessons about our world in your outings with your family? Kai

Tip of the Day
Look for animal tracks. Even if the only wild critters in your neighborhood are dogs and squirrels, it’s fun to follow their adventures in the snow.
