Overview

The classic John Sherburne Trail out of Pinkham Notch is a great introduction to back country skiing. We will descend a pleasant mix of easy pitches and some steeper drops. Moguls add to the fun. It is mostly a blue trail. The uphill route on the Tuckerman Ravine trail is easy. It is packed out and can be hiked or skinned. If the ski down gets too challenging, you can cross over and hike back down the Tuckerman Ravine trail. Along the way, we can catch views of the ravine and Wildcat mountain. We will adjust the distance we climb to the participants. This is a family trip, so the focus is on kids having fun. Tele, AT, or Alpine/Snowboard welcome. Skinning or hiking is appropriate. Maximum distance -- 5 miles. Every participant should bring a pack with jackets, food, and water for themself. Contact the leaders if you have any questions.
